Local Diseases

Radiation Poisoning

Stages

Stage 1: Light burns at areas of exposure, headache, cough, dizziness and fever; no further mechanical effects. Can be cured with 30 minutes of RPing a blood transfusion and a basic skin graft to remove and replace all of the materials that are currently catalyzing a degenerative response. Curing requires [Basic Medical] skill with 15 minutes of roleplay and 5 Mind spent.

Stage 2: All roleplay from Stage 1 with the addition of nausea and vomiting; at the turning of the Twelves, lose 5 Mind. Curing requires [Basic Medical] skill with 15 minutes of roleplay and 5 Mind spent.

Stage 3: All roleplay from Stages 1 - 2 with the addition of hair loss and more severe burns; the same mechanics as Stage 2. Curing requires [Proficient Medical] skill with 15 minutes of roleplay and 10 Mind spent.

Stage 4: All roleplay from Stages 1 - 3 with the addition of blisters and bleeding from the eyes, nose, and ears; Mind does not refresh at the Twelves unless the subject is healed by 10 more Body than their maximum amount each Twelves. Curing requires [Proficient Medical] skill with 15 minutes of roleplay and 10 Mind spent.

Stage 5: All roleplay from Stages 1 - 4 with the addition of severe burns and blisters; Mind does not refresh at the Twelves unless the subject is healed by 20 more Body than their maximum amount each Twelves. Curing requires [Master Medical] skill with 15 minutes of roleplay and 15 Mind spent.

Vectors

Radiation poisoning is spread through proximity to radioactive sources.

Progression of the disease occurs when certain thresholds of radiation damage occur, or time in proximity to radioactive sources occurs.

Initial onset of disease occurs when exposed to radiation for >30 minutes or 10 Radiation damage occurs.

Advance 1 stage for every 20 Radiation damage or 3 hours in proximity(within 5 feet) to a radiation source.
